Research Collections:
The St. Catharines Museum library/archives comprises both reference and archival material of local historical significance with particular focus on St. Catharines and the four Welland Canals. Researchers will find material about local families, black history, buildings and monuments, business and industries, communication and transportation, the community, government and human services, the military, sports and the arts. Our holdings also include city directories, maps, insurance plans, land records and an extensive collection of photographs, copies of which are available for purchase.

Research Services:
The research library is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:30 – 4:30 at which time a library assistant will be available to assist researches with their subject of study. Appointments can also be made by contacting the St. Catharines Museum

Collection of land records transferred to the St. Catharines Museum in 2000 by the St. Catharines Land Registry Office.

The land records collection held at the St. Catharines Museum includes land records from all towns that amalgamated to form the City of St. Catharines between the years 1868-1955.
